The purpose of the Medieval Feudal System was to allow the Upper Nobility Class to maintain control over the Lower Class.
Where did the Medieval Feudal System came about?
The Feudal System was introduced to England after the invasion and conquest of the country lead by William The Conqueror.
How does the Medieval Feudal System work?
The King grants land to the Lords, who then grant land to Knights, who are then permited to grant land to Peasants and Serfs.
In return the Peasants and Serfs Grant food and services when demanded, Knights provide protection and military service and Lords provide money and knights.
Why was there a Medieval Feudal Sytem?
The Feudal System was established for one reason security, the Nobles wanted security of maintaining control over their far reaching kingdoms. The peasants wanted security from Marauders and Barbarians from nearby lands. They also wanted security from invading armies. And so the Medieval Feudal System and Fief managment was almost Unavoidable.
